A: Our karts are electric and manufactured in Italy.  They all have 20 horsepower motors.  The Adult Karts are capable of reaching speeds in excess of 45 MPH and the Junior Karts can reach speeds in excess of 20 MPH.  All the karts have quick acceleration, excellent braking, and sophisticated handling capability.  They are relatively quiet, don’t have the fumes of gas-powerd karts, and are far faster “off the line” than gas-powered karts.

Q: Can I bring my own helmet?
A: Yes, as long as it is DOT approved or greater with full face cover and a visor or goggles

Q: What type of training do you offer?
A: We have a training video which is located directly across from the cashier area.  All racers must watch and understand this video in its entirety before entering the pit area.  We will also brief you in the pit area immediately before your race.  Before you begin any race, you should make certain that you understand (a) the basic rules of track safety, (b) flag and sign meanings, (c) kart operation, and (d) track rules.  If you are unsure of anything, please ask a member of our staff before beginning your race!

Q: Do I need to make a reservation?
A: You may make reservations for groups of 8 or more.  During very busy times, such as Friday and Saturday evenings, we unfortunately may not be able to accommodate reservation requests.   For reservations we no longer do any reservations without a party package. Contact our Event Coordinator at 610-375-27000 ext 220 for reservations.

Q: What sort of packages do you offer?
A: We have children’s birthday packages geared toward children ages 8 to 11, group rate packages for parties of 15 or more for Sunday through Thursday, and league racing.  Our entire track may be rented for private events, and we can structure ANY event to fit within your budget.  We can accommodate bachelor parties, corporate meetings, birthday parties, bar mitzvahs, basically ANY event can be developed with our event planning staff.  Please email or call us, we would be happy to help you plan a function that your guests will not forget!

Q: Explain the registration process?
A: We ask you to register the first time you race at our facility.  This allows us to track your race performance (lap times, overall RPM score) each time you race at Slick Willy’s.  You can access your race results at http://clubspeed.com/swkwyomissing/toptime.aspx?Days=7&Track=1

After racing with us a few times you will see that your registration in our CLUBSPEED system and your ability to compare your racing with everyone who races in our facility, is what makes our kart racing far superior to anything you’ve ever experienced.  You also receive a spreadsheet at the end of your race that shows your position by lap, your lap times, and your ranking with other racers.  You can also see your results on the large projection screen on our main wall, as well as the LED televisions in the pit and waiting areas.

Q: Explain the waiver requirements?
A: If racer is over the age of 18 they MUST have a valid I.D showing D.O.B. along with other information to verify. If the racer is UNDER 18 they must have parent or legal guardian over the age of 25 sign for them(the parent or guardian must have I.D. also).

Q: How many drivers race at a time?

A: We run 9 Adult Karts and 8 Junior Karts maximum.  We may run fewer karts during slower periods, but at our busiest times we will generally run the maximum number of karts.

Q: What are RPM points?

A: Every racer starts out with 1200 RPM points. Everytime you race you are scored against the other people you race against. Points are given or taken away depending on the place you finish. It’s a weighted scoring system: for example, if Mario Andretti who has 3560 RPM points races against Martha Stewart who has 1200 RPM points and beats her, Mario is going to take points directly out of Martha’s RPM stash, however he is only going to get a couple points at most. Conversely, if the same race were to happen and Martha beat Mario, Martha would take points directly from Mario but she would get a lot more points because she is effectively handicapped with only 1200 RPM compared to Mario’s 3560.
